Ausente is a project in which the artist uses staging to represent moments when an individual is physically present but mentally absent. The artist is interested in understanding what occurs when the mind is in this state, and the body becomes a mere vessel. Questions arise about the true presence of the subject within the space, and what is encountered are bodies lost in an internal world.

When discussing themes of loneliness, introspection, nostalgia, or melancholy reflected in each image, the artist is, in fact, speaking about herself, particularly when she herself is "absent," immersed in her own thoughts.
